Gives me cause to want to re-set the pack into the M2A2 Bradley. I could set up races, M1A1 vs. M1IP, fueler HEMTT vs. cargo HEMTT, the list goes on...

Sounds like you may be on to something very profitible Rob. Once you have your brochure printed up will you e-mail me a copy? Can you arrange to add an old Sherman to your inventory?
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

Man, you mean I could get $25 bucks a pop to let folks ride in an M113? Dang, how much would they pay to drive an M1A1 or an M3A1? I can see a new way to fund the company barbecue. ;)

One of the very same Centurion/Abrams mockups from that movie is at the Kenosha Military Museum in Kenosha, WI. Mark, they guy that runs the museum, has some very nice "Toys". For $25 USD, you can get a ride (sometimes drive) in an M-113.

Anthony,
It's not a bad movie. Worth watching. Good action sequences but the story is a little weak and slow. Michael Moriarty is in the film and does a fine acting job.

Anthony,

I thought it was a great movie. The Abramses looked a little weird though. The turret armor wasn't angled enough and the road wheels were obvious to someone who knew what they were looking for. The looked strange from the side, but from the front, they were VERY realistic looking. Also a 105mm cannon with a 120mm bore evacuator looks kinda silly! Otherwise, it was an impressive movie, loosely based on fact. I just got it on DVD and have watched it a few times.

The so-called 'M1A1' is actually a modified mock-up from an Australian Centurion Mk V. Check it out here http://www.tomtownsend-toyland.com/toyland/persian_gulf_war_australian_centurion.htm

Not bad looking eh? The major flaw is that the Centurion has six road wheels while M-1A1 has seven. BTW do you like the movie? I've never watched it before.

Hey everyone,

I was just watching the movie "Courage Under Fire". During the opening scene, there's a major tank battle that is apparently patterned after the actual events of "73 Easting" on 26 Feb 91, although from what I know there weren't any Allied casualties. What I'm wondering is, what the heck are the tanks that have been dummied up to look like Abrams? In some scenes, they look correct, and in others, they are so godawful, that any layman would know the difference.

It intrigued me. Oh, by the way, does anyone know of any decent markings for Gulf War I IPM1s with the 105mm gun?

Thanks!
