Ok guys, I didn't know if Heller might have released a number of different Leclercs based on new variants.

Larry, the original Heller Leclerc dates from 1992.

I'm aware of only the original kit, and now this one. As Domi said, apparently it is the original kit with some new stuff tossed in (which requires a bit of surgery!).

Sure do wish somebody would release a completely new one...

Anyway, a semi-new Leclerc is better than none!
I wonder if the new parts are available separately, for people like me who have the original kit?

Is it the original kit, or have there been multiple releases before this one? I have a LeClerc in the basement, and occasionally I consider digging it out to build it. Anyway, I really doubt that they'd provide the pieces separately -- unfortunately. I remain ready to be pleasantly surprised though.

I'll keep an eye out for it.

I like the looks of the LecLerc and it would be great to have a 1/35 one sitting next to my 1/72 one someday.

BTW: the Revell Germany 1/72 LecLerc is the tank in my signature pics in case anyone was wondering.

This is Heller's new Leclerc. It comes with a set of PE and decals for T5 or T6 variants (T5s were used in Kosovo, T6s are the current 'in service' machines).

As far as I can see, the kit is based upon the earlier Heller kit, introducing extra bits for the later variants, plus some figures. Unfortunately, the turret of the original Leclerc is provided and Heller ask modelers to do surgery on the turret roof in order to accommodate the new parts! What a cheap way to do it!

Still if you want a large scale production Leclerc, it's the only game in town (Trumpeter's is also a pre-production model). For smaller scales, go Revell Germany (T5 Leclerc).
