Trumpeter armor quality
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, September 17, 2004 10:26 PM
I've never seen inside the box of a Trumpeter armor kit. There are 3 kits I'm very interested in:

Trumpeter 1/35 Deng Feng 50 ton Tank Transporter
Trumpeter 1/35 SA-2 Guideline Missile w/ cab
Trumpeter 1/35 BJ212 Jeep

Does anyone know the quality regarding those kits? in terms of detail, accuracy...

Are there any scale figures of China's Red Guard? Or whatever the Communist troops are called...

Thanks

Those are all good kits. I have built the SA-2 and have seen the other two built as well. The detail and accuracy are good and Trumpeter has much better instruction sheets now. I haven't seen any Chinese soldiers, but I think Dragon has some sets for the Korean War.

I've got the BJ212A with recoilless rifle. It is a really nice little kit.

Hey gdarwin what colors did your son use on the T-55 I have the same kit (gotta love ebay) and Im trying to decide wether to build that or AFV Clubs M-48H (CM-11) kit. Either one will be straight out of the box.

I have not built those but I just finished Trumpeter's JS-3M. It was a nice build but there were a couple minor inaccuracies and 2 issues with the instructions;
1) some items were illustrated upside down.
2) A couple parts shown in place were not identified.
Neither of these are major but caused some head scratching for a miniute. Confused [%-)]
Gather your resources/pics and, most important, have fun!
