Strictly speaking, I don't have an ounce of Polish in me, being a mongrel of Italian-Irish-assorted Brit-various Scandanavian extraction, but DO I have brother-in-law whose step-father was Polish. I also have a 1/72 Renault FT-17, and I believe the kit was manufactured in Poland.

It would depend on the time-frame. I do need to clear a a couple of items from the queue, but Mad Tiger Day did demonstrate how a group-build can get one focused on something to completion.

Polska!

Ya yesta Polska... I dunno, was that Polish? Just remembering some from my dad. So, Dobzha! I'm already working on a Polska Panzer, a T-34/85 for the 1/16 scale build... any good double dipping!? Two builds, one tank? Ah.... you think the Scotts are thrifty! Wait 'til you meet the Poles.

Oh,

I really like that CD cover! Is that an actual WWII Polish crew? THAT needs to be made into a poster.

I'm living in Poland, and have some limited access to resources, so if there's anything I could do to help, let me know. You'll find good refernces from these publishers:

Kagero - Polish/English military history and monographs
AJ Press - Polish, Polish/English, English military history and monographs

Other resources:

http://www.jadar.com.pl/start-a.htm
http://www.part.pl/
http://www.swiat-modeli.com/index.php
http://derela.republika.pl/linki.htm

The correct way to say "I'm Polish" would be "Ja jestem polakiem."

Bawcie sie dobrze!!

Well,I am an ex-pat brit now living here in Warsaw with my beautiful Polish lady.Nice to know there are a few members here in Poland. I am lucky to have a load of model shops here in Warsaw and am currently working up a diorama of the Uprising using AFV clubs new Ausf D. A couple were captured by the insurgents and one was paraded through the streets with one patriot standing in the back with a huge Polish flag. No problem with figures as the insurgents wore german uniforms and just tore off all insignia and wore red and white arm bands or helmet bands. I did want to do the hetzer nicknamed Phat but cannot find a 1/35 one here.Never mind. That TV series is on every couple of months!!! Hey Matt, where in Poland are you going..If you need any LHS Addresses, just ask.Warsaw is bulging with new LHShops now.The new Mirage model superstore is opening here in October..A whole office block just stuffed with Models they promise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Cool [8D]Approve [^]Approve [^]Approve [^]

Hi Double D,
Just go to www.warsawuprising.com lots of pics, films and info.More than enough Ideas for Dios. The captured machines repainted with Polish flags and mottos make a more interesting layout.
I have the wydawnictwo militaria softcover No 204/148 on the uprising.lots of photo's. The main captured vehicles were the hetzer,Ausf D and Panther tank. the most famous was the home made armored car KUBUS which is still just down the road in the Army museum along with other juicy pieces of german armor and russian stuff.
The publishers address is.......www.militaria.net.pl
If you really need some shots I can scan and send you the color profiles from the mag.

I have seen a Vac-Form issue of the Kubus here a few times. In 1/35th. The Kubus was built on a Chevy truck base I believe.

One of you guys should do one of those super-cool Winged Usarian Komradz for the 1680s. With the big wings on their backs, the helmet with the big nasal guard, the 3/4 plate armour and the long red and white lance? YES!

Now that is Polish armour!

Hi Double D,
If you shoot me your E,Mail address I will scan the profiles for you.The captured Hetzer is best. They also had a couple of panthers and a few Ausf D's
I am doing the Ausf, having to design and print my own decals though for the Polish eagles they painted on the bonnet and rear. Which vehicle are you going for?
I did the M.Models 90mm Winged Hussar last year.It was shown at the Warsaw palace of Culture and science exhibition last Christmas. It costs 450 Zloty here but is a great display piece.

Yes,there were 10 of them in Warsaw but none captured. They were with the 500 Sturm panzer pioniere abteilung. By the way.most barricades were built with rubble and the sidewalk flagstones which they ripped up.Also they used those big round cable drums used for street cabling. Some used tram cars tipped on their sides. So not many tables and chairs, they used them for fuel in their hiding places.
