After soaking the tracks in Dawn for a few days, I sprayed 3 coats of testors acryl on them.

No more oily residue.

Sorry for the picture quality. The square on the cutting mat are 1". My camera is built for photographing large bridges.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking that the $4 for the kit will be reinvested in another one. The tracks are still tacky.

I ran into the same problem with the dragon 1/72 elephant. For the tracks i had to discard the original ones due to the use of a petrolium solvent paint on them. Once i painted the tracks with waterbased paints, solved the problem. Bill

So I have more symptons:

Easy off didn't take of the mutant primer, but it did take off the dried primer.

Soap and dish detergent seemed to make the primer less tacky, but it didn't remove it.

Are there any other suggestions. Is it time for a bath of mineral spirits?

I've been doing a quick build on a 1:144 Sturm Tiger from Dragon.

Here is the problem that I've run into. The tracks are made from vinyl, and my
(automotive) spray can primer won't dry on them. How can I fix this problem?

Do I need to get the easy-off out? Will easy off eat vinyl?

Otherwise, I'm very happy with the kit. Pics forthcoming.
