Photobucket Account Activated! Come see my Armor Base!
Posted by Duke Maddog on Monday, September 27, 2004 9:41 PM
Well, for those who have enjoyed my Factory tours, now I have a photobucket account where you can see my finished Armor builds. All 156 Pictures of my 1/72 scale Armor! Now, mind you, these are pictures of only half of my Armor collection. There are about 125 or so more pics for me to take, not including the models that I'm already building.

Here's the link:

OOOOPS! Black Eye [B)]Blush [:I]Blush [:I]Blush [:I]

Sorry guys! Password's 'maduke'. Go ahead and check it out. I think I'll end up making it public after awhile.

Sorry Dwight, I ain't got any credit cards anymore! Yeah, everything is cash purchase now, which kinda makes it easier to get kits without a paper trail! Evil [}:)]

Thanks for reminding me about the password and enjoy my army base. Wink [;)]Cool [8D]

Nice collection Maddog!, thumbs up, where do you have room for that fleet? (BTW: what would you call a big collection of tanks? fleet, division, mass-o-metal Tongue [:P]?)

I'm just about ready to paint my M48A3 right now and your M48 pictures are helpful to me. I like the dusty weathering on them. How did you do that?

You are one prolific builder!! Lookin' good!

How long has it taken you to build all those kits?
Many of them look like the old ESCI 1/72 kits... Are they?

Kudos to the factory workers.

Thanks I-beam! I think I can call mine a battalion, since I think I have about that many tanks altogether. Rob G, how many tanks in a battalion?

I got the dusty look by painting a rough coat on the model, then after it was washed, futured and decaled, I applied a dullcoat and drybrushed the model with Pollyscale 'dust'. That was kind of tricky, since the stuff goes on cleaar, and then dried to a dusty white. I think it came out pretty good. Thanks for the compliment.

Actually, in the past, I did war-game with them against a friend of mine that I grew up with. So, in a sense, you are looking at some battle-hardened combat veterans! Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

Thanks for the compliments my friend!

Thank you Gip!

It has taken awhile to amass such a collection. And yes, at least half, if not more, are the old Esci 1/72 scale kits. Back when I was really getting started, they were the most numerous Braille scale kits on the market. I've been building the armor for about 27 years now, but the most rapid increase came about 10-15 years ago til now

Wildwilliam, bryan, wbill, and Dwight, Thanks for looking, and thanks again for the compliments! Once I get past this week/month, I may have enough time to start posting more. It's tough working so much Overtime!

Looks like you have yourself quite an army! Did you run the local hobbyshop out of OD Green paint??

Thanks tediam! I appreciate your comments. Yeah, I wish I had a little less OT and more time to build, but with the extra cash I'm making, there may be a few more kits being bought. Mischief [:-,]

JWest, thanks! I haven't yet, but then, I have been building mostly Russian equipment lately! I can't seem to find Russian Green anywhere for some reason! Confused [%-)]Wink [;)]
