Thanks everyone for the compliments. I still haven't finished with the "detail creep", (the continual addition of minute details to a otherwise finished model.) I doubt that I will actually use this base for the diorama I want to build for this beast. I'm thinking I would like to have it at the factory or performing a test drive in front of the review stand.

Nice, I like the Maus, but its always deceiving- it makes the 75mm look so small! Nice build

Glenn, the antennas were apparently designed to flex at the base. The trough on the underside of the gun barrel acts as the antenna deflector, (although it's position is somewhat off,) and bends the antennas over as the turret rotates.

Roadblock is a good term for it. Afterall I read they hardly moved if they are not down broken. lol.

Seriously, great camo job. Very clean build, too. The subtle weathering is very nice.
Hope to see the completed diorama soon.

Peridexion-
Very cool Maus in the haus!
Those radio antenna look poorly placed. I mean unless one removed them the turret could bend them off if moved too far one way or the other. Interesting location?!?

nice job. Sounds like you got a lot into it. Unbelievable that the Maus even existed. Even the model looks heavy!

Here are the first 3 images of my recently completed DML Maus. Numerous modifications include; rebuilt gun mantlet, J-R aluminum barrel, reshaped turret chin, deleted periscope, pistol ports moved, resized and plugged, reshaped front hull corners, cast antenna mounts, added hull welding seams, flame-cut edges on lower turret sides, operating hatches, fuel line from auxillary tank, periscopes, Eduard PE and several other small details. Painted with Polly Scale paints, acrylic washes, colored pencils and pastel chalks.

This is by no means a finished diorama, more like just a base with which to photograph the model. I'll have a few more pics a little later.
