first off great king tiger crockett and the zim looks like it worked out well in the end.

Ok now I when down to the model shop and went to get my king and it turned out that both kits were sold the other night. So now I have to wait 2 weeks for a new shipment and maybe it will be in, the owners not sure. Now I have some more time to think about which one to get. Your opinons greatly helped and I think I'm going with the Porsche.
Thanks again

Welcome to the dark side "Marineman25". Sounds like it might be a toss up on which style "King" you might want to build, they both appear to be pretty nice kits and no doubt you'll just have to build them both. Thats one way I solve those kinds of dilemmas. My advise is not as sound as the rest of the guys but they know what their talking about when it comes to pros and cons, so you'll make the right call I'm sure. (Note) Crockett your Henschel is beatuiful. Semper fi, mike

Panzer-

This was the verlinden PE set for the tamiya kit, I had to adapt it to the DML by using Tamiya putty and a tamiya zim tool to patch in the gaps. I also had to re-drill the rear clevis holes and the gunner sight aperature to mate the Verlinden set.

I haven't built either, but I would think that preference would be the major decision, since the turret is the only big difference.

The porsche Turret is excellent. The mold is great and it has many advatages over the Tamiya kit, while also having some disadvanages. Either way I highly recommend it. Also, if you decide to build the Porsche Turret, you will be religated to use Zimmerit for accuracy. Only 2 Prototype Porsche Turrets did not have it applied.

I would recomend the Porsche turret Konis. But it realy depends on which one you personally like better. I have the Porsche kit and I 've heard great things from the Henschell kit, so either way will be good. The only problem is the indy treads[:0]. Their marred to the teeth (no pun intendedBig Smile [:D]) with ejector pin marks and putting them together is a challange on its own. There's no way someone would have too much fun while putting together those demonic treads. Aftermarket's the way to go with the treads. The detail is outstanding, and the shape is the most accurate of all the Konis kits so far (in my opinion). Nice kit, but watch the treads. When it comes to Porsche or Hens. turret, I guess it's up to which one you like better, because their both great kits.

I'm going down to the LHS to get one of the new DML King Tigers. It has both so I just need to know some things about the kits.
Which one is better, the henschel or the porsche turret? How r the indy tracks? Are they hard to assemble? Are the PE vent covers any good? Any fit problems I would need to know about? Finally any other things to help my build go a little smoother.
I'm only asking all these questions cause i can't find a review of the henschel online anywhere!!! Angry [:(!]
