My T-34 Diorama

This diorama depicts a squad of russian tanker troops crossing a road somewhere in Russia in the fall of 1942 while taking fire from a enemy patrol in the distance.

That is one tantalizeing T-34, but i must know how you did such excellent ground work?
The short grass and dirt look excellent, and I was hopein maybe you could share some secrets of the groundwork! cause thats just plain hot.

Very nice work. Even though the base doesn't seem to be that large, the dio is very balanced overall.

Thank you all very much.
Firstly,
The groundwork was made using blue insulation foam. i used this to build up the base. I carved it to the shape i wanted and glued it down using elmers wood glue. Next i apllied sculptamodl with a little bit of dark kahki paint mixed it. While this was still wet i addd the groundwork such as the dirt(woodland senics railroad tallas and gravel). When this was wet i made my impressions for the tracks and foot prints. Then after everyhitng was dry i applie a weathering mixture whihc was jsut thinned accrylic(so it wouldnt eat the foam) dark akhki paint. I waited overnight for this to dry then dry brushed with earth tones. I also used powders and scrubbed them into the groundwork too. This is good for shadding and burnt areas. Oh by the way the trench was used by removing the portective seal form the foam and dripping solvent based glue onto the foam. The grass was applied by using woodland senic staic grass. I spread on the base diluted glue (3 parts white glue/1 part water). on top of this i applied the grass. PUsh down and wati an hour for it to dry, then blow off the excess. Then i clumped together the field grass (woodland senics) together and dipped it in super glue (it holds and dries better than the white glue) and applied it to the base.

I think thats all. oh yea and it you rub a ballon on your head and then hold it near the grass it will kinda stnad up.
