You can go with Tamiya's old Pak 40 and add an aber set of PE or wait for DML's high tech kit (DR6049). It looks pretty sweet and Great models is taking pre orders. It has the correct shield and an aluminum barrel. All for less than $16.

I build the Tamiya years ago. It's OK, but you do need PE to make it correct, or scratchbuild a bunch of parts.

AFV's PAK 40 (#35071) was released a few weeks ago. Retail is about $32. It comes with a PE shield and they have as set of brass "bolts" you can use to replace the plastic ones that come with the kit. PMMS has a review on it.

AFV also sells the PE shield separately, but you don't need it for the kit. And they have a set of PAK 40 turned brass ammo. There's a lot of anticipation for the DML kit to be released. It's supposed to be quite a kit at just a little over half what the AFV kit is going for.

Panzer,as far as netting goes you can try to use tack cloth or Verdenlin sells the little squared cloth mesh that can be used as netting.Digger

Panzer another inexpensive way of making netting would be to buy or get some 4x4 guaze at a drug store. I dont have an exact brand here at work,, (Go figure I work for a medical supply company) But when I get home I will give you the name of the brand that I got.

I would wait for the Dragon kit. I was all prepared to buy the AFV one until Dragon announced theirs. Almost half the cost can't be beat. I did see that AFV is releasing a very limited combo pack of the 251/D and Pak 40 for low $40's. Not bad on their end.

I will probably get the DML issue when it finally comes out. Then I will be able to do a side by side of the two of them. The AFV kit is pretty impressive, although there aren't nearly as many parts in the box as I'm used to!! lol

My pe gun shield is curved in the front (both pieces) and at first I figured that must be the way it was supposed to be. But every pic I've looked at shows the shield being straight and flat across the front of the gun. I don't know if mine got bent in shipping or if AFV did it that way so it wouldn't get trashed in the box(???)

They have the 251 3-in-1 kit back in, too! I've got one of those already. Nice kit. Lots and lots of plastic!

Stop it, I'm starting to drool all over my keyboard. Yeah I'm ordering both. AFV also has a limited combo pack for about $41. I've never built their kits yet, but I hear they are nice.

Are you talking about the AFV 251 limited combo, or is there a Pak 40 combo that I dont' know about?? I'm trying to decide about getting the DML PAK 40 right now or if I should wait a couple of weeks.

In order to complete the msg before...
-> 7,5 Cm Antitank Gun (Pak 40/ L46) item 35047 - Tamiya Europe GMBH.
In the built instructions, there is a draw of one Anti Tank Gun Company (nov 1941).
-> Antitank Gun Pak 40 (L46) item 318 - Italeri, also a good kit, but I indicate the first.
Good luck!Big Smile [:D]
