Flame Cut Steel Pics

I have access to some pretty cool stuff that may be of use to some armor folks trying to replicate some features in steel. Tell me if you need pice of other steel items. Be glad to help.

These are from a 6" thk piece of hot rolled a36 steel. Shows the edge from the flame cutting process. If nothing else, it's kinda cool.

Cool! Ted, you're not building a real Tiger, are you? I would feel ashamed and inferior if I show up at the group build with a 1/35th plastic Tiger and then you crush mine with a real one.

No Jason, 57 tons of steel would be out of my budget right now. I am working on the plans for a scratchbuilt 1/8 = 1" scale Tiger I. In the process of gathering information, plans and the like. It will be made from steel. I have a live steam guy at work that is helping me figure out the castings required for the tracks, mantlets, and things like that. It's my long term goal to make the beast RC. Best I can figure right now it'll weigh between 5 and 600 lbs. My friend is working on the drawings for the rail car to haul it behind his locomotive. I figure this is my 10 year project. And even then, it may take longer. we shall see.

Well, good to see that 1.) you have the weight narrowed down and 2.) you are finally taking advantage of the fact that you have a friend with a locomotive.
