Heya frosty and Mike...

Appreciate the comments! I am pretty happy with it...course it is my first armor- so I have nothing to compare it to LOL

Weathering has not actually started....postseason baseball is keeping me away LOL There is a good chance I may be in Boston on Sunday too for game 5 (I hate to say I hope there is a game 5....but I do LOL!)

Mike. I think you've got this sherman right where you want it? Like you and frostygirl alluded, just take your time with weathering and any other detail work you plan to do and I think you'll have a real nice showpiece there. Keep us posted. Semper fi, mike

Mike:
that looks fantastic, love the scheme u picked !
take all the time u want finishing it up, adding the dirt, grime & mud is the fun part !!!

as 4 me, i have 2 finish up the StuG, then Mad Fokker Day, & then while i'm still
in WWi mode, i'll try 2 finish the Nieuport (it's taking a lot of effort 2 not work on
that one... Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)])

Heya Matt and Dwight...

Thanks Matt for the comments-- I did mask the first 2 colors and tried the red brown freehand...if I can figure a way to do it, I may try to repaint that color....

Dwight-- appreciate the comments-- means a lot to me coming from you bro.

You are doing very well, Mike. Hope to see that shermie completed soon. For an A/C guy, you sure know how to build a tank.

lookin good mike. one word tho, the brown looks a bit blurry to me, and doesn't have as fine demarcation lines as the khakl color and the green. i dot know if thats wuts its supposed to look like, but fromthe camo design pic, id think it'd need to be a bit more pronounced...

just tryin to help

Thanks Eric, Joe, Matt, and Mike.

Eric-- I am using MM acrylic paints...I think it may be semi-gloss, but I'll hit everything with some flat when I finish and dull that down!

Matt-- the lower hull is painted OD. It does seem to be a little mismatched- but I asked the all-knowing one for things Sherman and he agreed this is how it should be. It'll be covered with some mud anyways LOL

Mike- Indy links? hahahahahahahaha....they'd have to send me to the looney bin first!

You're on your way Mike. Nice of you to give the Dark Side a chance. Hehehehe. It may be me, but the pics make the paint look a bit glossy.

OK Frosty... here is my end of the bargain so far...

As frostygirl has been showing off her gorgeous Nieuport in the Aircraft section, I figured it was my turn to dip my toe in the dark side of the pool Wink [;)]. It's this wingnut's first attempt at armor- and I decided to go all out. No boring OD schemes for me....

I'd like to thank Robert for bringing this scheme to my attention:

Not sure how well I can pull it off-- but I will sure give it my best shot! So-- onto the model pics:

OK-- here she is after coat #1....

I know-- she's too clean...but there are more coats of paint before I start the weathering...still have the Red Earth and OD camo to add, as well as the pioneer tools, tracks, and some figures...but for a first time armor builder, this is a brand new experience to me-- and better still-- no canopies!!!!! Wink [;)]
