Looking good I might say. No I am no expert on these things but for an A/C guy your are doing good on that armor project.

Good of you to give armor a try. Now you might become addicted to the Dark Side. Good luck on finishing your Bradley, it's coming along nicely.

The bar guard is part # D39 in Academy instructions. It is a triangular shaped , tubular structure directly in front of the exhaust box. It should slant toward the front of the vehicle.

As for Testor's Dullcoat, If you have it in the spray can, you can use it as is. For the Dullcoat in a bottle, I thin it with Lacquer Thinner (it adds to the dulling effect) to about the thickness of milk. It sprays great from my airbrush, I always use it and have had no problems.

Bumper numbers: first one - 2nd Armored Division, 2-41 Infantry Battalion
second - 3rd Infantry Division, 3-63 Armor Battalion

The triangle in the bumper codes indicates Armor.
For B Co 1-26 Inf 1st ID, it would look like this: Left side: 1 I 1-26 I or 1 I 1 I 26 (I being a capital I)
Right side: B 26 (or whatever vehicle number you wish)

HeavyArty: Thanks a bundle for your critisism. I was so happy that Im almost done I would have overlooked alot of the things you pointed out. Im so used to building Wingy Thingy's that I never would have looked. Ratio? As for Markings It comes with Bumper #'s reading 2-(triangle)-2-I-41 and 3-1-3-63(triangle) Now youd think that with 6yrs in the Army I'd know how to read Bumper #'s but those are new to me. I may try and make my own for B Co 126 Inf 1st ID and I have a buddy that can giv me info what they would look like.

jessiahkinnamon: I painted this thing using only reference pics that I could find online, I wish I had Directions for a paint scheme. The instructions only come with a pattern for an all over olive drab scheme and I think a 70's era camo (mostly tan with white and black streaks?) you can see a pic of it on the cover art in my Gallery. Your Abrams looks like its off to a good start.

Having built aircraft exclusivly I will say this was difficult. Not more so than aircraft just a different kind of difficult. More tweezer work. That and this thing had no interior work. Didnt want to tackle that yet though my next build will probably be my 1/35 M1025 which has windows so I guess Im gonna have to practice :) Im still dreading doing figures If I can pull it off eventuly Im gonna use this and my HMMWV in a diorama in which
B126 INF failed to properly Identify my HMMWV and blew us away in Graf. Way to go guys :)

WOW you build some beautiful aircraft Awood.

Looking good Awood, very clean build, one thing on the NATO paint scheme though, looks like it needs a little more variation or evening out of the Black and Brown, don't be afraid to use a little more of the two camo colors it kind of levels everything all out when you're done, on my last shot at the NATO scheme I simply followed the Directions paint scheme and it seemed to work prettly well on my Abrams.

It looks like it is coming along nicley. Here are a few pointers though. The camo scheme should wrap up on top of the crew area in the rear as well. Also, be carefull in painting the base coat. In a few areas you can still see the tan plastic where it didn't get covered. Look at the turret ring in the front, up under the rihgt front near the sprocket and inside the rear taillight guard below. Also, the bar guard in front of the exhaust box is backwards. The higher end should touch the exhaust box, this allows things to roll up over the box and not get stuck on it.

Make these few corrections and it will be great. As far as the dullcoat, nothing to it, just spray it down with it. You may want to wait till after the decals are down, they stick best to gloss surfaces. What markings are you going to use on it? Keep up the good work.

Looks real good. Did you learn any Korean trying to read those instructions?
