I too just picked up a set for the HVSS Sherman (E8) from AFV Club. Looks like it is very easy to build but and it's a big BUT, they have the largest knock out pins I've ever seen on an injection molded track yet. Oh well, what's a little more filing and sanding.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

I just got 2 aftermarket sets of T158 "Bigfoot" tracks for my M1A1s from AFV club. They are FANTASTIC!!! They run about $10 a set and take no glue or anything, just fit the connectors over the pins and you have workable tracks! If you DO want to glue em, regular styrene cement is fine, as they're styrene and not resin or metal. Definitely worth the extra investment!

Friulmodel tracks are white metal held together with pins that are cut from provided wire. I used cut down straitpins instead, It just seemed stronger. They were easy to build and look great. A pretty wide selection is avalible from greatmodels web store. Most kits run around 30 bucks or so.

regards.

How about individual link METAL tracks held together with a pin in each track? Do they make THAT. I would run out and replace one type of plastic track with another. But i would buy metal tracks for my tank.

Individual track links are usually injection molded (like the rest of the plastic model) or sometimes are resin. Becuase ot this, they have a higher level of detail and accuracy than the vinyl/rubber ones (I think they even make some in white metal also, for a very realistic look). They take longer to assemble as you are gluing indiviual links from the track together. Sometimes you can find them for a fair price, but usually the nice ones will cost as much or more than the model you are putting them on. All good model stores should have some, if not, all of the big model retailers on the internet sell them, for example, www.squadron.com. Just do a search under 1/35 scale (or whatever scale you want) armor accessories.

WOW..... Ok there are several kits that come with the individual tack links like Academy and DML. There are aftermarket kits for most types of vehicles out ther by companies like Model Kasten, Fruilmodel, Tamiya, and a slew of others. The key question is for what tank/halftrack are you looking. They are generally NOT CHEAP and are not real easy nor real difficult to apply. Yes you can really tell the difference which is why a section of us prefer to use them I can about guarentee you any show winning tank model has individual links
