Love it Mo. I also lean toward the cleaner look and this is an excellent example. Your zimmerit and camo are just impeccible. A little weathering can go a long way. The tracks are beautiful. Getting ready soon to tackle a Tiger myself. Thanks for sharing the great work. Semper fi, mike

Hey Rob great job on the zim and cammo. I too, am one for minimalist damage as you will soon see. I like to appreciate the kit and the build.

Thanks guys.

rebelreenactor, I hear what your saying. It is a Mid Production but the reference phot I used (sans the markings) was a Mid Pro with one gunners eye hole covered in Zim.

well, I am officialy confused, Is it a late? or mid?
there are rubber road wheels, but there is only one gunners eye hole on the turret. Confused [%-)]

Well other than me being confused Great job! Maybe someday i could do zim like that.

Excellent job! I'm a huge fan of heavy battle wear and weathering, but I've got to hand it to you, it's excellent!

Thanks guys.

Shawn, I am leaning towards not going the chipping route on this kit. When I do chipping, I usually try and do some chips before the actually wash and filter process. This way you can see a difference between old and fresh chipping. But I will be chipping my Stug III F a bit from our Build Group.

Hey Crocket, the manlet on Tiger I's was actually Zimmed a bit finer then the rest of the tank. The manlet was Zimmed using a smaller Zim tool and thus is not as thick, but the camera does flush it out a tad. I hopefully can take better pics when the project is finished up.

Thanks again guys for the input.

Cheers

Moses,

Looks excellent. I too am a member of the "minimalist" weathering and damage club. One thing that jumps out at me though, the zim on the mantlet looks a little less defined and not as thick as the front slope. Is this just the digital photo?

Great job, those tracks must have been a pain!

As far as weathering further , perhaps a bit of subtle chipping and scratching here and there , on points of foot contact , maybe around cupola etc , I would not beat it up too much though it looks like a factory fresh tank !Cool [8D]

Hey Jason, thanks for posting bud. The tow cables are from Aber and painted with MM Schokoladenbraun and drybrushed with MM Steel. The camo on the Tankers pants are being painted in Vallejo acylics.

Cheers

Oh, man that is a sweet zim/paint job. I also love the figures camo on his pants. What did you use for the tow cables? I want to replace mine for the Tiger build and also put a longer one on my Jagdpanther.

Tiger I Mid Pro almost done...
Posted by Moses on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 12:11 PM
These are more progress pics of Tamiya's Tiger I Mid Pro. I just finished the tedious task of making ModelKasten's workable tracks and began some more subtle weathering. Those who know me are aware that I am not one for excessive battle damage, chipping and wear. The tracks were painted with a Tamiya Flat Black/Flat Earth mixture and drybrushed with MM Steel. I will be weathering them a little further with MIGS's awesome Rust Pigments to tone down the drybrush a tad. Again, the Zim was done using Tamiya Polyester Putty and Tamiya Zim tool. All Airbrushing was done with Tamiya's range of colors. The figgie is still very early and only put it in to show scale. Any suggestions on what else needs to be done when it comes to weathering is appreciated.

Cheers

Mo
