These tanks (Stug III G and Jagdpanther late) are definitively re-boxed Dragon items.

I bought DML/Dragon Panzer III M/N; the hull and a lot of other pieces are the same of the Revell Stug III.

I have built a few of the modern vehicles which are simply rebadged Italeri kits along w/ most WWII kits, I think someone said this.

Bill, thanks... Hopefully, that will become a model soon!! I've got my eyes on Cutting Edge's 1/144 resin kit of this beauty... £100 but all the same, I love the Valkyrie... All I have to do now is being nice for "Father Xmas"...

Not too familiar with any of their WWII stuff, but the modern kits I've gotten from them are varied. Some have individual suspension arms, while others have them moulded in. Either way, the quality of the kits is usually fairly nice, as they're generally a step above Italeri.

Revell of Germany is a major kit re-boxer in 1/35 scale. Although many of their Bundeswehr (West Germany Army) kits are originally theirs, the vast majority of their kits are someone else's with new decals and perhaps some retooled items on the sprue.

Among the compaines that Revell reboxes are #1 Italeri; #2 Dragon/DML; #3 Esci. They've also reboxed some eastern European kits like the GAZ-66.

Most of RoG's WW2 German armor are Dragon kits. Also most of their modern Soviet/Warsaw Pact are Dragon kits. Their WW2 US/Allied and modern US/NATO kits are Italeri kits.

Their M60A3 is an old Esci kit and their M88A1 is the AFV Club kit. The M34 2½ ton tactical truck and Jeep set are the old Monogram kits.

There are probably other manufacturers out there that I missed.

I agree that their 1/72 scale kits are the best out there, but some of their kits are reboxed Hasegawa kits. They also reboxed some of the old 1/76 scale Matchbox kits along with their own vinyl soldiers. They've recently started reboxing many of the old Matchbox kits without soldiers too.

Again, RoG is a mixed bag due to the fact that they draw their kits from all over. Chances are that if someone makes a model of the same or similar model that is in a Revell box, it is probably a rebox of the other company's kit.

I didn't know they made a Jagdpanther. Is it a Tamiya rebadged? I know they have Dragon's Jagdtiger.

I have Revell Germany's Leopard 2A5 at home. I honestly cannot remember if it is that way or not, but I will check it out and let you know.

About Revell kits
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 15, 2004 9:37 AM
I have just received two 1/35 Revell kits I ordered some time ago.
I never bought previously any kit from Revell, so I have no experience of the average quality of the products of that manufacturer.

The kits I got are the following:
- 03007 Stug 40 Ausf. G
- 03009 Jagdpanther late version (command)

The mould seems very good, and also the general detail reproduction seems very accurate.

The problems come when I looked at the single hull piece, which has moulded together also the suspensions. So I can't move up and down the whells to adapt the model to the ground, but the worst aspect about that peculiarity is that in the part not visible when the tank is placed on the ground - but fully visible if I turn the model - the junction between supsensions/hull is something very rought and indefinite (in particular in the Jagdpanther model), without break in continuity among the different parts, and with no detail at all!

I'm wondering if all Revell kits have hull/suspensions moulded together!?
