weathered tiger

finished weathered tiger1, Tamiya 1.35, Russia 1943,

rust is real rust, mixed with washing up liquid.
1x application dry brush was applied, felt this lightened/weatherd the tank enough.

good weathering job. it adds a great sense of realism to the model. interesting technique. where did u get the rust from, specifically?

Really nice effect you've achieved with the rust. I've always thought that weathering a single toned vehicle was a challenge.

Rust was made using this technique:

It works 100%, 1st batch does take a week or two for the water to evaporate,
then the wire wool just crumbles into fine ready to use granules..

I usually use burnt sienna & umba pastel chalks, mixed with w.up liquid,
this gives a lighter colour, the real thing mixed with w.up liquid is of course much darker as in tiger pic. Personally I prefer the real thing Smile [:)]

Panther is next, my first !
