Hi
You'll have to be a little more specific in terms of what kind of artillery you're looking for. In terms of kits, there are a venerable plethora out there, so you can pretty much take your pic. There are many, many kits of German artillery from WWII, from Tamiya, Italeri, and AFV Club. In addition, there is some allied stuff as well. As for modern stuff, again, take your pic. Most modern stuff is self-propelled (mounted to a tracked chasis usually) and again, there are many different kits. Most of the stuff you'll find is modern NATO equipment, but SKIF and other companies have some Soviet stuff as well. I just picked up their D-30 Artillery Complex. It comes with a MT-LB prime mover, and the 120mm field artillery piece.

If they'll only put out a kit of the M198 155mm towed gun we have, then I'd be a happy camper! C'mon, somebody take a shot at this one!

I think between that and the elusive AH-6J (that I actually ordered) I could be happy for at least a couple of months before I'd start complaining that something else isn't out there in plastic to buy.

I got the Hobby Craft/Trumpeter AS90 which is supposed to be the most advanced peice of artilliary in the world so the web sites say. Haven't built it yet but the reviews say it's a great kit..

Right now the only modern Arttillery piece that I have seen is the M102 by AFV. It is a 105mm that up until about 5 years ago was still in use by the National Gaurd. They have since been phased out by the British light wieght 105. I think its nomenclature is the m10 something or other. Man my fellow 13F 's are going to lynch me for forgeting that one. I do remember hearing about a M198 LemonJello. It is a Resin kit but I cant remember the Manufacturer.

The latest 105mm used by the US is the M119. The AFV Club M102 is still in use by some National Guard units. I know the Mass. ARNG still bums some parts off of a pair of mine that are inop.

If you don't want towed arty, Italeri does the M109A6 Paladin. It is also boxed by Revell. In fact, just about every variant of the M109 is boxed by either Italeri or Revell (all basically the same kit).

Revell also does the German Panzerhaubitze 2000 that comes with a huge aluminum barrel.

The older M107/M110 is also put out by Italeri and reboxed by Revell. It served in the US through Desert Storm.

One of the US/NATO's most modern artillery pieces is the DML MLRS and MARS (NATO variant).

Hobby Fan also made the towed Lance missile. It was used by the US into the late 80s/early 90s. I think they did a conversion for the tracked variant as well.

Heller does a couple of 155mm SP howitzers based on the AMX-30 chassis.

Trumpeter also does some Chinese SP artillery pieces.

Yeah, there's a resin one out of Australia, but it's way too pricy for me, I'll wait and hope that a plastic kit comes out or maybe I'll work up to scratch building one some day

Thanks Rob for correcting me on that one. I knew either you or Gino would correct me on that one. I wouldn't mind seeing the 119 in model form myself. I have the 102 that I plan on putting in a dio with a troop transport HMMWV both with markings from my old unit. But thats a ways down the road yet.
