I grew up building the 1/48 scale Aurora kits, still have a few. I pick up 1/48 scale kits when I see them and have a few Bandai kits and the Frog/Fuman reissues.

I'm glad to see that Tamiya is starting a new line of 1/48 scale kits. I have the new Kettenrad and most of their original motorized line. I've also got a couple of the later motorized releases like the Type 74 and Kanone.

I've been away from the forum for awhile and was unaware of a resurgence of 1/48 kits. Im glad to here it. They are perfect for my desk. I currently have three assorted kittech/Zhendufu [sp?] 1/48 kits on my desk at work as i type this. I have a Bradley on my kitchen table I am currently working on. I still have to add a couple of details and do a wash.

I got addicted to 1/48 scale Bandi kits when I was ten and have never been able to find much on the market. I always wonderd when Tamiya would get involved and after a twenty five year wait it looks like I will be able to complete my Sherman C Co. If any one else is interested email TamiyaUSA and let them know how much a 1/48 scale M-18 or M-8 armored car would be appricated. My fathers Lionel train lay outs were never the same after the 7th armored and the 2nd panzer fought vicious house to house battles through out Lionelville. Thanks Tamiya for bringing back a great scale for armor.
