Update on Panther Late G interior
Posted by spector822002 on Monday, November 1, 2004 10:56 AM
Just checking in an posting a few pictures of my Panther interior , since last time I have scratchbuilt the main ammo racks , I have still to glue them down , as I am waiting for latches , clamps for these as well as doing a few adjustments for turret fit Also have added the radio wiring and transformers in the lower fighting compartment , You may notice the Driver and radioman have also been added . That has been the biggest chore so far , getting the pose I want on each of them , the compartment is also very very tight , and some scratchbuilding of the legs on the radio operator was required as I had no legs that would fit correctly . These are both scratchbuilt, dragon, warriors, and tristar parts . The radioman needs his left arm as of now , I want a hand holding onto to left ear for better reception so to speak , may be time for more scrathing here as well ! anyhow onto some pics , if you see something that may be incorrect let me know , keep in mind the ammo racks, fug 5 radio and figure have not been glued in yet , as well as the driver has to have certain parts left off until he is in for good,as he will break these parts off while putting him into place IE ( steering control right ) Now this last picture I just wanted to know what you think about both the drivers and radiomans profile with the hull top on , I don't want either of them above the hull as the rest of the crew ( in the turret ) is going to be in combat mode , one loading , one aiming , commander scoping

So far so good even thought I would cut some panels out to show the insides. Also you might want to add a little bit more definition to the radio mans knees but other then that I think you have done a wonerful job on this beast so far.Digger

Looking very nice so far Shawn. Keep up the good work. Much more patience than I.

Hey Shawn, that is looking great. This would make a wothy opponent of my Jackson (if I ever get it completed). LOL. Just kidding.

You're doing an outstanding job Shawn. I can't really see anything that needs improvement. (note) The radiomans left leg does look a little rubbery but you most likely won't even notice it once the upper hull is attached. This going to be a great model. Semper Fi, mike

I think it was necessary for the driver and radio operator to hunch down a little more, they appear to be sitting pretty straight here. This may be why they kinda stick out a little on top.
One solution may be to lower their seats a little, if that's possible, and will probably not be visible in the finished model. Also, I guess it's concievable for them to be in the tank without their hats on, if that would reduce their profile a little.

But I agree with everyone else, I think your Panther interior pretty much rocks. Looking forward to seeing it with it's done. Good job!
