Well like Tigerman said, there would be minimal rusting if any.

BTW, welcome back to the Darkside.

I believe they oversprayed the grey with dark yellow (early in the war), because you see many that were worn with the grey showing through. I don't believe that the tracks rusted much in the desert climate. The sand would generally polish the tracks so to speak.

Our annual club show is coming up, (Feb), and on the table this year is a super detailed Monogram Rommels Rod. I used to build armor all the time in high school, but that was 25 years ago. The track and wheels are replaced with Tamiya Panther parts, my questions are these:

What color are the tracks in desert service? I know that they wear, where, steel meets steel, but in a dry climate...........?

What color primer was used on Afrika Corps vehicles, or were they overpainted yellow over gray? This vehicle has been running around the desert for over 60 years, so it should have some, (alot), of chipped paint

I'm "making up" alot of stuff as I go along, as this vehicle never existed, but I do have some standards

I will post pics as it progresses..

Thanks in advance
