Humbrol Colours

I often use the lighter 93 desert sand, because of the darker washes I use afterwards...

I used Humbrol # 83 Ochre for years, until I switched to acrylics.

I use Humbrol #81 for the dark yellow color and like the results. Show me a perfect WW2 german dunkelgelb paint chip and I will show you a person who has invented a time machine.

First let me say I have not used Tamiya paints yet. I use MM enamels most of the time. Having said that, I at one time had trouble finding MM "Panzer DunelGelb 1943". I bought a can of humbrol # 83. My squadron catalog calls this "Ochre-Matt." After reading your post, I put some #83 next to the MM DunelGelb on the King tiger I'm building and It's very close to the MM. The Humbrol might be just a hair lighter if any from what I can see. I hope this helps.
