Well I don't think there is more to be said. You guys have been very informative and that's a cool pic, too.

Tamiya has some good tank crew figures, but they are hard to come by. I actually found some in a "card" pack when I was stationed in Japan with the Marines.
Good luck, post some pic's when you can, would love to see how it comes out.

I looked a few pic's of other tanks from this battalion and it looks like they all have the late style sprockets.

Thanks jivalle!! Apparently any of the tankers out there would work as long as they are without winter gear

I'm a big Sherman builder so I knew right where to get the answer for this one.One of the references I have has a picture of "Classy Peg" on the cover. It is "Tank Battles of the Pacific War 1941-1945" by Steven J. Zaloga. The tank is from the 716th Tank Battalion US Army. They were in support of the 43rd Infantry Division as stated by Peridexion. The uniforms are standard for the time, either "Green Dungaree" or the green tankers coveralls. Just a note, the wolfs head insignia goes on the hull side toward the front. Other tanks in the unit had them on the turret.

hard to see if it has the early or late type sprockets. Darn that guy and his head! Going with late

Here is a shot of Classy Peg;

That would make a nice diorama.
I need to take a look for uniforms.

Thanks! Rules out the Marine figs. Know of any Army tankers in dress appropriate for tropical climes?

That would be 43rd Infantry Div. in Luzon, P.I. January 1945, according to Sherman in Action.

Sherman question
Posted by JWest21 on Thursday, November 4, 2004 6:46 PM
I am starting Tamiya's 1/35th Sherman M4A3 in markings from the Phillipines circa 1945. They are the kit markings and have a large Wolfs head and the name Classy Peg. That is all the markings. The instructions make no mention of any units. I don't even know if it Army or Marines. Basically the only reason I care is I want to by a replacement crew (since the included commander is wearing winter gear) I have found a Verlinden and Warriors set for warm weather tankers, but they are Marines. Couldn't find any Army. Any recomendations?
