Need some quick tips
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, November 8, 2004 5:16 PM
I recently completed a Churchill Crocodile, dark green in color.I've shaded ,highlighted and decaled it .It looks fine.It just seems to be missing something.Anybody got any ideas?Currently the tracks are just dry-brushed a metallic color.

Thanks

It would be very difficult for me - not to mention possibly inappropriate - to try and make finishing suggestions without seeing a progress photo...sorry, but trying to describe little tweeks and ideas are just too difficult without a reference.

Did you drybrush the base? It's amazing how much that adds to the weathering.

i would go along with tigerman and foster. one thing though, did you try dirtying it up a bit? a little mud a little dust? maybe that's what it needs....

hey, im not a tank man, (but after seeing that challenger in TMMI i wanna start. anyone here see that?? F@#KING AWESOME sums it up :))
sounds like u need to add some weathering (dry brushing and washes)and maybe pick out some details. how about adding something like tow cables or spare tracks on the hull? or maybe u could damage/deform some parts that look like they would be the first to go in real life....
i think in taht same issue with the challenger they had a write up of a t55(i think) in that the authour dusted the tank with mig weathering chalks (i think), then sprayed a light misting of thinners(he didnt say which kind) which then dissolved the chalks and let it run into all the crevices, leaving this coat of filth on the tank

See, it only takes one tank to draw you to the Dark Side. Approve [^]
