Tiger.... I'm in the same boat kind of....... It's been years since I've modeled and I just picked it up again over the last year. I am constantly going through the forum just too see the latest set of cool builds..... I have put a couple of my builds on and I have an M8 Free French Greyhound I hope to post Friday, but I still feel my stuff is far from what I see on this forum..... But I keep building, keep coming here for tips and I feel my builds are getting better. I even am taking a crack at a couple of group builds....... Time will tell

Eastern,

I felt the same as you did when I first started coming to this forum. I thought the models I had built to that point were atleast pretty good. Boy was I wrong. most of my builds before coming here were garbage. 2yrs later and a little experimenting and Im starting to produce models that Im proud of again. Though I still have a long way to go this site has been a god send. I strongly recommend you check out Swanny's web wite (over in ther Aircraft Forum) He builds mostly aircraft but he has a tips and tools section that can improve any modeler willing to experiement a little.

This forum is a great place to learn. You'll find help even if you're not looking for it. Seeing different techniques and problems dealt with in discussions, even as an observer, you're bound to pick up something that you will use. This really is the ultimate technical reference Smile [:)]

When i joined up here I had not ever built a tank let alone knew what a wash, drybrushing or anything like that was. Just keep asking questions and you will get to build like you really like too. That and the group here is great as well.

Actually the most impressive component of this forum is its members who are always willing to help.

And I, too am very happy to be in the company of such great builders. It inspires me a lot to keep on trying to improve my works.

I feel the same as you do. I'm feel like an amature after witnessing so many great builds. It has helped me become a more thorough builder in MHO.

And let's not forget the tremendous base of knowledge and authority so many of our fellow forum members share with us from first hand experience to deep research on subjects that many of us enjoy building. It really doesn't get any better then this.

It's always a pleasure to see builds shared here by the various members of the community. So many different perspectives, so many different artistic interpretations, you can't help but broaden your horizons from the sheer exposure it represents. Combine that with the myriad number of techniques and the willingness to share them and you've got a dynamic effect beyond comparison. Wink [;)]

I check out this forum every day just for inspiration. I love to gaze at other people's work almost as much as building. It's almost increadible how people can make a small hunk of plastic look like a machine that has driven through heck. I've seen a number of pics on this forum where I couldn't imediately tell if it was a model or the real thing. These forums are the most valuable recource for any model builder.

Every time you build, you will see an improvement. Not everyone here are Master Builders, and we all started the same way anyway. I know you were joking about junking your collection, but looking back on your past builds also makes the newer ones more satisfying. Keep at it, ask questions, don't be afraid to try a new technique, but above all make sure you have fun - that is what the hobby is all about, fun.

Keep visiting! You will not believe what you learn. The best part is, if you see a model you like, ask about it. everyone here is always happy to share tips or techniques. I have learned more in the past 6 months, than the last 20 years combined.

I cannot believe the quality of workmanship I have seen on this forum. The attention to detail is incredible. The finishes you guys put on these vehicles is phenomenal.I could never hope to match the least of you.At this point I'm ready to shove my entire collection into the garbage! Not that I will, but anything I have done to date pales in comparison.

Keep up the awesome work.
