Factory Tour Number 4, with two completed kits!
Posted by Duke Maddog on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 8:48 PM
Well, after a couple more days of free time, I was finally able to finish a couple of kits!

Ladies and Gentlemen, my Russian Army is now taking into service the following two vehicles:

First is my T-72 tank. Finally, after decades of waiting, here she is:

Second, my T-72 will be scouted for by this little beauty:

I had to break off the turret after clearcoating it because the Future got into the space between the turret and the hull and 'glued' it together. I tried to clean it out without breaking the turret, but it snapped off anyway. Disapprove [V] I think she still looks good though!

More progress was made on the following two kits as well. I got the rest of the hull detail parts glued onto my BTR 60. Here is how it looks before respraying the basecoat:

The gold/brown spots are the P/E gunport covers that came with the kit. It also has real rubber tires! Approve [^]

I also got the radar assemblies and the detail parts built up and attached to my Tunguska. I then sprayed her with another basecoat before working on my BTR 60. Here it is before the basecoat:

Sorry about the pic. Blush [:I] White is very difficult to photograph on a colored model.

Here it is after the basecoat:

I hope you all enjoyed this latest tour. I am sorry that I couldn't provide another BBQ afterwards, but I need to 'punish' some workers who 'misplaced' three of my rubber tires from my BRDM 2/AT-3 Sagger, rendering me incapable of getting it finished! Angry [:(!]

I'l have the BBQ up and running the next time around when I have a new May Day parade to show off more of my finished kits! Wink [;)]

More braille gems. Like the T-72, was it a hard kit to get or OOP. Thanks for sharing.

You've got that tiny stuff mastered Duke. The tour just keeps on a moving. I'll have to have you make me some braille Tiger cufflinks for the Early TigerI group build awards dinner that I'm sure Tedium (Ted) is going too host for us???? after the build. LOL.

Thanks Tigerman! I'm glad you like them. I appreciate you comments very much.

Actually, my T-72 was very easy to get. It is put out by ACE, still in production and is carried at Brookhurst Hobbies in Garden Grove CA. I plan on going back soon to buy four more: Two for my Iraqis, one for Germany, and one captured by Israel!

I thought your little workers have gone north, Duke? How did you manage to come up with those? LOL.

Just kidding, Duke. Your small scale wonders are a sight to behold. I think your littler factory workers deserve some bonus.

Thanks mike and Dwight!

Mike I think we'll have to look into that possibility. Still, I have a few more projects on the bench for now. I'll post updates in a bit.

Dwight, I would give them a bonus, but I still can't finish my AT-3 Sagger vehicle since I have only one tire for it. Man, first my M2 Bradley, now this! I hate having kits just sitting because a stupid part (or three!) is missing! I guess that's what I get for hiring scabs to replace all the workers who'd gone North!

More great models from you, Duke! Thanks for posting this update. Have you got more T-72s in mind?

Nice work on your tiny beasts Duke! Have to watch out for those scabs, sounds like they've got sticky fingers for some of your kits! Shock [:O]

Thanks Dj, Zokissima, Bill, and the King!

Dj: Yes, I plan on getting four, and possibly five more. There are decals to build two more Iraqi T-72's included in the kit. Then I want to make one in West German markings to reflect their use after the reunification. I also want to make one Israeli, captured from Syria, and the fifth one I might get to make Egyptian if I can find pics of one in Egyptian service.

Zokissima: Great idea! There are still several kits building though so I'll wait until I get them done. Those ants won't stand a chance! Evil [}:)]

Bill: Or at least for parts! I guess rubber tires are going for a pretty good price on the Black Market! Black Eye [B)]

Thanks King Thad, I appreciate the great comments. Cool [8D]

Thanks Joe! I'm glad you came to visit my Factory. Maybe someday I'll be able to post pics form my aircraft factory as well once I get a decent enough camera!
