The Tiny Challenger Challenge -- Dec 20-Jan 3 (a holiday group build)

Dragon has released a whole series of tiny, easy-to-build models of armor in 1/144th scale, complete with phot etch and teeny decals. They are lovely for things so tiny.

Predictably, 99.9% of the stuff is German, and mostly WWII German at that. But they have released one precious pack of non-German stuff!

This is set 14028, Challenger 2 and Warrior. I just bought a set on greatmodels for $3.40.

I'm proposing a Tiny Challenger Challenge from December 20 to January 3. Build and paint the Challenger, and post your results.

(it's the Challie pre-TELIC, so it's not suitable for the Iraq invasion, but fine for Kosovo).

Anyone interested? The kits are very simple and it should be a fun, painless thing to do over the holidays, when slipping in a few minutes here or there on this modest little project can make a lot of progress. And visiting relatives will find the miniscule kit fascinating! For those with more time, a diorama would be in order. Maybe winter in Kosovo, with garland and a tiny tree on the tank?

How can you say no to four bucks and six pieces? Smile [:)]

Building the Warrior to go along with it would be purely optional.

Actually the pieces are probably bigger than most of the pieces you put on a 1/35th scale tank.

Not much interest, eh? How about if we make it something German? Like the railgun or the Karl morser? They are only about ten bucks or so, and they look awesome.

Sounds like fun, but I'm going to stick to my agenda of finishing up some builds first.

Hey Larry,

They also have a nice tiny 1/72 Challenger or two. Why not make it an open Challenger challenge...but smaller than 48th scale.
