I can't see the pics at all. I wish I could, because it sounds like a great build. I just finished a tiger myself.

You know I couldn't say how historically accurate mine are, probably not dead on. I agree wholeheartedly about the builder appreciating his work, is the most important thing. Having fun is the bottom line.

Nice job Dave. I'm not a rivet counter myself so as far as I'm concerned, you've done a spectacular job on your Tiger. Love the paint job and the most important thing is you enjoyed the build. Semper Fi, mike

yes indeed it is the academy non-interior version of the tiger 1. I was quite happy with the way the kit went together.

Nice model, super paint!Thumbs Up [tup] Even if it is not, as you say "historicaly correct" it still looks good. Besides, sometimes if you try and get too "correct" it takes all the fun out of it. My example was to use the left over Panzer III N bits from my Dragon Panzer III M/N to turn my $10.00 Zevzda Panzer III F into an N (DAK markings). Were any built on the F I don't think so, but it still looks cool.
Also, I don't know about Armour_freek, but the grass is still green in South GA. I had to cut mine todayYuck [yuck] so much time wasted that could have been better spent modeling!Laugh [(-D]

Nice job on the paintwork! It's good to hear you say you enjoyed the build, that's what's most important after all!

As for better lighting, here's a really easy and cheap solution. Get a couple of student gooseneck lamps in the 60w range (they usually run around $10 each) that have the clamp for the base. Use a small bookshelf or desk top, put up a piece of posterboard or an old t-shirt/sweatshirt for the background and voila! you've got an instant photo studio setup that can be easily taken down and put up as needed. Nice build. I personally build very few of my models to be historically accurate. I just want a model of the vehicle, and am usually uninterested in the specifics of history.
Is this the non-interior version of the Academy kit?

Nice Tiger. It looks as though you did your own zim, I haven't tried that yet, so kudos. I think a wash on the wheels would help them to pop out more. It looks as though you didn't paint the tires on the wheels, I can't tell if it's base yellow or mud. Can't say I blame you there are so many of them on the early models, that's why I opted for the late. I agree that it is important as you stated that you like the way it turned out, after all you get to enjoy it everyday. That should be stressed to all as bottom line. Thanks for sharing.

Nice! Just because a model isn't historically accurate doesn't mean it's not awsome! Nice tiger!

Hey Dave, from the pics it looks like you have done a really nice job. Unfortunately the pics are not that great and really can't get a good assesment of your work from them. I suggest taking some pictures indoors with blue poster board behind it and no flash.

Cheers
