Here is a pic from the same area on an M47. It doesn't really discolor that bad.


Some drybrushing of rust and some bare metal to give the burned look will do just fine.

Some photos would be a great start. I know how scarece those are. Usally the paint gains a multi color hugh starting at the hottest point. A pinkish whiteish tan at the hottest points. the surounding area is pinkish brownish. The hottest points usally have paint flaking off and there may be rust forming at the now paintless area. If the temperature isn't to hot to burn off the paint then the paint may lighten in color and start to have rust froming through the paint.

How do I go about giving the exhaust covers a good weathered look due to heat?
