Big Guns
Posted by bbrowniii on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 2:40 PM
In a lot of the footage from WWII, particularly scenes of the stree fighting in Berlin, I have seen these HUGE Soviet tracked artillery pieces. I am not sure of the caliber or the nomenclature, but I am sure of one thing - they are pretty cool looking guns. So, my question to you goes something like this: what kind of guns are they and does anyone make a kit of them?

Thanks in advance Big Smile [:D]. You guys rock. Cool [8D]

The tracked artillery piece is a Soviet 203mm howitzer. It is available in resin from Pit Road ($$$)and is still available. I think company also makes a kit of this gun, but I can't say that for certain. The Pit Road kit also has comes with a crew of four.

Thanks for the info. 203mm!!! That's pretty impressive. What did they use to haul them? They weren't self-propelled, right?

Resin, huh? Might be out of my price range.
