What do you all think about Paasche?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, November 21, 2004 12:00 AM
Well I was lucky enough to come into a little bit of money as a bonus for reenlisting in the Marine Corps. So I went out and bought myself a Craftsmen 1.5 hp 3 gallon tank compressor. It was big enough for painting stuff and it was on sale for 99 bucks at Sears. No I am looking for a decent air brush. I have a buddy that swears by Paasche. I was looking at their website and they have some nice looking stuff there(I found it cheaper other places but it still looks nice). So what I was getting at is I am looking at the Paasche VLS or Millenium Wooden Box sets. Both of them are nice but I can't really tell what the difference is between the two.

I made the mistake of going out and buying an AZTEK brush when I first started modelling earlier this year. It seems poorly constructed and I haven't had much luck with it at all. So I wanted to upgrade to something that would last me a while

Any thoughts are appreciated
Ben

As a ground pounder its against my better judgement to help a devildog but what the hell :)
Paasche's are outstanding airbrush's and Im sure if you get one you wont be disappointed. If your looking to shop around though Badgers also come highly recommended. I afraid I cant speek from experience on either of these, just what I read and seen of fellow modelers posts. Many people swear by paasche. I however am one of the few who like Aztec airbrushes simply because Ive never had any problems with them. They fit my needs and the price is right.

Congratulations on the Reup Ben! I've got a Paasche D500 air compressor and have no complaints at all. I don't use their airbrushes, I've got a Badger 200 and an Aztec 410. I've got a buddy that won't use anything but a Paashe. Matt Usher did a two part article in January and February of 2004 in FSM about the pros and cons of many different airbrushes. It may be worth a look for you. Stay safe man.

I've got a Paasche VL and I think it is a good double action airbrush.

(BTW- im gonna get a badger Omni 4000 double-action, i hear its pretty good)Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Hi Ben, I too have a Badger 200 and love it. I've owned 2 badgers and an Aztek, which I no longer use. I know nothing about Paaches. I recommend checking the following sites for great selection and prices:

I have had a Paasche H model that I have used exclusively for the last 16 years. I love it. No problems. Great product. I highly recommend them.

I have used a Paasche VL for years. There are probably better airbrushes out there, but I haven't needed to look for them. Wink [;)]

I have a paasche H, the only airbrush I've ever used and have no complaints. I'm sure you would be happy with either of your choices.

I too have been using the Paasche H for a year this Christmas. I love it. Works fine, When I clean it properlyBlush [:I]Blush [:I]
Weh I first go an airbrush I had a compressor like you. They work fine, the only problem is that you'll need a water cather type thing (cant remember the name) if you live in a wet climate, other wise it will spit water and ruin you finsish.
