                        Dear anyone who can help.
                        I`d like a crack at the AEF designs `Achzarit` (the female of the title) but I`ve heard conflicting reports on quality. Can anyone enlighten me?
                        Plus, is there a UK distributor for AEF designs?
                        These tank based APCs protect infantry with heavy armour and utilise otherwise obsolete tank hulls, win/win. They will make a big, bad and ugly contribution to any club stand. Also, I`ve read on the web that the Russians are interested in converting their own T-55 and/or T-62 into a licensed copy of Achzarit, titled BTR-T.
                        Any news on the model front?

                        AEF Designs has always been hit-or-miss. I've used their kits a few times, and the quality has been good this time and bad the next. There were short moldings resulting in incompletely-molded parts, tons of flash, etc. But even when the quality was poor, it wasn't bad enough that items couldn't be corrected, repaired or otherwise worked with. Of course my experience was a long time ago and others may have had different experience. Hope it helps

                        The only news that I have seen concerning a BTR-T is that SP Designs may come out with a conversion for the Tamiya T-55. My experience with AEF is also hit and miss. They do come out with conversions that aren't being done by other companies. However, the conversion might suffer from accuracy and fit problems. If you do buy something, be sure to have good reference material to use as a guide.

                        Thanks for replies,
                        I have found a Korean company called `Legend Productions` knocking out a similar line of ultra-modern Israeli/Korean etc.. armour, and have found a UK distributor at `Moredun Models`. Legend are on the web but I went through Scalemodelindex.com to find it so don`t have the address to hand. I`m picking up some APCs this weekend so I hope to have time to report back on their quality soon.
