I will try to be brave too...LOL
Why the darkest color first? Sorry for the question, but on my understanding it should be the lighter one first...

You can find a build review and scale measurements in MMIR #33. According to their measurements, the kit width scales out at 3.49m while the real thing is 3.63m. The height and length of the kit were the same as the real thing. The reviewer used Tamiya masking tape and started with the darkest color (black) and masked off his way to the lightest color (flat earth). When I get brave enough to paint this scheme, I will probably follow his advice on painting.

I read it is a 1/40 scale...But the shape is correct, for me at least...
How will you paint the camo pattern?

I picked up this kit a little while ago at a very cheap price. Being the only kit out there, that I know of anyways, I can't complain. Detail and fit of parts is decent. On par with any earlier Trumpeter release.
Ditto on the tracks, but this is again nothing new for Trumpeter kits.

I scored one at the end of a model show for a whopping $10. Very nice kit, but I agree that a metal barrel will help this kit out. There is some talk by the "experts" about it being out of scale (too big/too small?), but it looks like an S-tank to me.

I built the "b" version and liked it. Trumpeter does use soft plastic, so be careful when you are sanding the kit. The fit and detail are good and accuracy is good as well. I have a "c" version and bought a metal barrel and some p/e to make the kit even better. My only complaint is that the tracks are very tight and caused my idler wheel to pop off a couple of times.

Does anybody know anything about this kit? Any comments on fit or accuracy would be really appreciated. Thanks.
