What do you call a ZIS-5 without any wheels?

A pain in the Censored [censored], that's what. After discovering that my Alan ZIS-5 truck was missing it's wheels, I was a little bummed. Angry [:(!]
I had purchased the kit on a recent trip to Chicago, so there wasn't much hope of returning it to the LHS. Alan is from St. Petersburg, Russia, no website listed....a PO Box. Evil [}:)]
No problem, the tires look like dog meat anyway, I'll just order the Armo ZIS-5 wheels and use them. I received my Armo wheels....and guess what...I still don't have any hubs. Scratch building time. Anyone have any photos of ZIS-5 wheel hubs?

Sure you haven't been talking to Jwest? Big Smile [:D]

Sorry to hear of your problems, hopefully you will be able to overcome them. I have no idea what a ZIS-5 truck is to begin with, so no help here. Sad [:(]

I swear, it's like a plague, slowing infecting us all!! Seriously, I think that those Russian kits lack any serious quality control. I had an ICM Luchs that did not have tracks (sent mine back to Alanger 2 months ago and STILL haven't recieved my replacement)

Thanks t3488g, I beat Google to death and found the link you posted and a few others, and that's about all I've got. While the link you gave me is probably the best, it still leaves quite a bit to the imagination. But then again, I doubt any of the judges I come up against are experts in Second World War Russian cargo trucks! Approve [^]

All this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. After hearing about Jwest21's fun and games, I'll be dipped if I'm going to buy any more Russian kits. I don't care if nobody else makes a certain vehicle, this stinks. Angry [:(!]

I now order Russian kits only in the presence of an old priest and a young priest

Here are some links I found from google.ru. It ain't much, but it may give you a start. I'll see if there isn't a ZIS-5 somewhere in the area. If so, I'll post some pix.

Thanks Petros1, I Googled it in Russian too. I've managed to slap this Suka together now. A soon to be finished diorama will feature this truck suppling a fragment of the Stalin Line.
