Tiger I, Müncheberg Division. Berlin, 1945
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 1:37 PM
I received the Tamiya kit of the Tiger I early pro. I would like to reproduce the Tiger number 323 from Müncheberg Division found near the Brandunburg gate in Berlin, 1945 (maybe the last one involved in combat?). I can argue from the photo which I found that it is an early production tank with a late mantlet ...I need any further info's about that tank, and also a paint scheme...

Can you help me please?

Thanks,
Luciano B.

I don't know if this is the same tank or not, but it kinda sounds like it. It shipped from the factory in October 1943:ID: 323
Original Commander: Hscha. Hermann Barkhausen
Technical Features: Rubber wheels. Binocular sight. Shovel mounts, no shovel. Left-top headlight. Spare track on front plate. Loader's hatch with long hinges and centered handle. Front tow extensions not cut out.
Camouflage and Markings: Unit emblem on left front plate in zimmerit cutout.
Fate: unknown
Photos: (i) Front view, multiple publications.
Notes: Unusual in still having the single headlight mounted on the left top

I've got the photo, I think? It's knocked out in front of the Brandenburg Gate? Not much to work with....I think David Pentland did a painting of this, didn't he? I'll take a look.

Dang! My memory does still work, WOO HOO!
