Like I said before, the photograph is not the best. There is much more weathering than you can see. There is a dark brown oil wash in the details. I will try to do a better picture... perhaps in some natural light.

True, sometimes the lighting affects the contrast on a model.

Don't worry too much about it, though. It looks great now!

Nice work! Really clean build.
As mentioned, a darker wash would help bring out the details.

Great job on this first armor model. Not much to complain about. Tigerman's idea of a wash would probably be a good one but it already looks real good

Looks alot better than my first Armour model. Can only say one thing, You did a fantastic job on the figures and extras.... but the front on shot just doesnt look right. It looks like plastic? Maybe like some one else mentioned a wash to bring out detail, then I'd suggest a heavy flat coat.

Thanks much. I appreciate the feedback. I find my sci-fi models easier, since you can take some creative license. not so much with this. i have a tamiya bradley and a merkava... can't wait to start those!

Good looking Abrams. Your figures show that you have got some experience in painting as the uniforms are excellent. Would like to see you show somemore armor work. Thanks for sharing. Semper Fi, mike

Well done for a first time armor build. Nice figures and drybrushing. May I suggest a wash into the nooks and crannies that will help pop out detail for you. Thanks for sharing and hope to see maye a Bradley next?

For a first time armour builder, it's really good! And your figures aren't too shabby either! Some places look a little glossy, but that's probably the light. Anyhoo, really great job! Thanks for sharing.

M1A1 Abrams... my first Armor model

I'm a dyed in the wool Science Fiction modeler... mostly Macross series stuff from Hasegawa, but I thought I'd venture away from my comfort zone and try an armor model. Here is my first attempt. I'm really pleased with it. I found this Tamiya kit very simple to complete. My biggest difficulty was the figures... and I've determined I need to invest in some oil paints (I just use acrylics). In these pictures you will find that it doesn't show nearly the amount of weathering that went on. Perhaps its the photos... I used an oil wash and pastels, but doesn't look very weathered in these pictures.

I would love any constructive feedback...
