ok , so today was not a good day at burger king, where i work, but other than that, dragon's new Sd.Kfz. 251 Ausf. D 3in1 kit is bugging me, you can see why when you look at their models page, for new stuff, and it is all very cool how they advertise, but in the section for decals on this kit, WHY ARE THERE POLISH NATIONAL MARKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????
if you know why, would you please let me know?
Also, by 3in1 do they mean 3 separate hulls, or 3 differant buildable versions?
anyways, another great idea by dragon.

3 differnet versions can be built. No, you don't get three diff. hulls.

Dragon is raising the bar, with aluminum barrels, pe parts and so on. I wish they would add dry transfers instead of decals. Still, they are THE manufacturer right now.

The Tiger I P was a Prototype built by Porsche. Henschel got the contract, so the Porsche Tiger was not put into production. However, the Porsche design was adapted to be the basis for the Hummel (not sure about the name) self propelled gun. One of the Porsch Tiger prototypes made its way into a combat a unit and saw service in Italy. That is the vehicle that Dragon's kit depicts.

I personally didn't like the one dragon kit I built. It was the T-34/85. My biggest complaint is the individual tracks. If a company is going to put out indie tracks, please make sure they fit each other. After that fiasco, I've stayed away from dragon.

The 3-in-1 part means that three different versions can be built. I can't wait for this kit to come out. It suposed to be great, with lots of extras:

It's a really good looking kit. I bought a week or so ago. The extra versions are a real bonus, plus two types of indy links (one of which is pre-cut), an aluminium barrel, and a raft of paint/decal schemes.

Anyone figure out why there are Polish markings in the decal sheets?

Just my guess...Since the specific unit hasn't been identified...

They could be markings for captured equipment.

In 1942, Russia authorized all Poles in Russia to form an Army and assisted with equipping them (probably with substandard or captured equipment). This Army was moved to Iran for further training and equipping before joining the Allied attacks in Italy. In Italy, the reorganized Polish Corps (2 Inf Divs, 1 Arm Brgd) won great fame at the battle of Monte Cassino.

Just one possibility...

me, it is scary, but i guess i am an indy track kinda guy---i like how you can paint the tracks a lot easier(my method) and then you can set up a system for putting them on--i don't do one at a time, except around the sprockets and drive wheels.
