The fit is TERRIBLE! lol I had to add so much stretched spruce in the lines around the tool boxes on BOTH sides of the turret! Took almost two days of work just to make that area look presentable. I have taken so long to get this one finished because I despaired of it looking very good after it was finished. However, once I started the weathering process the pace picked up on the model because it really does look pretty good. I had to scratchbuild a CIP for the rear of the turret as well. I had a couple for the sides of the turret from a Tamiya ammo kit but just didn't have anything for the rear. I only did one although according to the pics I have been using for reff, the Brits use two on the rear of the turret. Oh well, maybe if I do the Tamiya kit that was in the latest issue of FSM I will do it properly.

I have to add a tarp roll or two and the MAG at the loader's hatch and the model will be completed.

I've heard that kit is bit of bear for fit and whatnot. How is yours coming along? It's nice to see something different. thatnks for sharing.

hehe I am actually wanting to build that version pretty badly but the laziness is hitting me.... however.... I am really starting to get picky with my detailing on the model now and I might just go ahead and make the side skirts. This Hobbycraft version doesn't include them but it does include instructions on how to make them.

The OPTELIC Challenger 2 is the version used in Iraq. OPTELIC was the British name for their operation in Iraq, I believe.
Judging from the side skirts, Scorn is not building that version.

Looking good so far, Scorn! Keep us posted!

you got me zok. what are you referring to?

I am not putting the reactive aromor on the sides if that is what you are wondering. Too lazy and too many others to handle first, although I will prolly be kicking myself later for not doing it.....

ROFL!

I have 5 kits that are finally starting to get finished. Some of these have been sitting on the shelves partially finished for over 5 years.

Here is current state of the Challenger 2 from Trumpeter. I removed the molded fuel tanks and just tried to show the tie-downs instead.
