Italian stuff
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 26, 2004 12:33 PM
Hello everybody, I am new to the forum. Nice. I read a thread from this past July about the lack of WWII italian and japanese vehicles. In that thread there were several theories about the lack of interest for this stuff. I believe it is not a lack of interest, but just a lack of products. Many vehicles of the Italian army were very cool and very unusual. Vehicles such as the autoblinda, the "sahariana," the "dovunque" together with very well known semovemente, L6 and the 13/40 and other vehicles such as the weird small TL37 and the CV 33 are very cool. The problem is that they are offered only by few companies and mainly in 1/35 and they are rather expensive. These are the most common ones, I just mentioned a few. If you look in websites such as www.comandosupremo.com you can see more. Italy needed 2 or 3 years to catch up with Germany, this is why the Italian army was outdated and obsolete. The best tanks produced by Ansaldo never saw combat because by the time they were ready, Italy already asked the armistice to the allies. So, only a few were proiduced and used by the Germans.

Welcome St. Louis and thanks for the link to a very neglected topic.
