Duce and a Half in progess

After painting Testors olive drab with airbrush.

weathering with a wash of black artist watercolors esp on the wood..

then sprayed with very thinned polyscale Dirt color and a couple of decals added but not weathered yet.

Tires are flat black / od green with dirt overspray.. drybrushed.

Decals just added but not weathered yet.. going for a used dusty dirty look.. not a muddy one.

delbert that is fantastic. my question is one of personal preference so please feel free to ignore it. are you planning to weather the stars at all?

the build looks great. in the right dio it would be a stunning work.

#1 Yes I plan to weather the decals after I put them on.. there is a lot more to go.. prob a few more coats of superthin "dirt:" color overall.. and some pastel weathering.

#2 the faded effect was acheived using Pollyscale "dirt" over the Testor's olive drab.. I thinned it with distilled water prob about 70% water 30% paint and lightly airbrushed it over the model a number of times.. getting heavier on the underside and around the lower body.. the wheels which were flat black / od green were also sprayed this way... heavier on the outer edge lighter as i went over the center.. going for a dusty effect..

other details i'm working on. a chain with a hook in it for the wench (almost done) jerry cans for the racks in the bumper and on the side.. various peices of stowage... truck will be depicted with the canvas cab top rolled up.. cargo will be a load of Ration cartons and a wood cookstove made from a 55 gallon drum.

Outstanding. As someone whos spent some time rolling around in these type of truck (albiet newer models) I have to say that if that wasn't sitting on your desk it looks like you could hop in and take off. Very convincing.
