I have found the books to be quite helpful with lots of tips, yes they are a bit pricy but I think they are worth it!

Thanks for the info. I think I`ll give the modelling books a miss unless I really want to build the model theyre on about.
Cheers

I have more than 50 Osprey books in my collection. Many are written by some of the best authors in the business, such as Thomas Jentz, Hilary Doyle and of course, the honorable Steven Zaloga. Bow [bow]
They are a good value for the money, are generally accurate, give a good overview of the subject and they have excellent line drawings. I like them. Smile [:)]

The "How to" series of modeling manuals however, leave something to be desired, They are not the "Complete How-to manual" for whatever it is you are building, more just a general outline and some nice photos. Useful, but they could be better.

I'd say most definately still a houshold name. He is quite a modeler and I think he specializes in T-34's. I myself have not used the modeling books but do have some of the specialized books such as the King Tiger, JStalins and so on. They are interesting and do provide some good info.

I was in a local bookstore today and noticed a whole section of Osprey books on military subjects and a couple on specific modeling projects. The one that caught my eye however was on the subject of modelling the priest in a couple of scales by Steve Zaloga. Its a bit pricey tho and I was wondering if anyone has used this book or books in this series and if they were worth the money.I seem to remember waaaay back when I last did some armour modelling That Steve Zaloga was a pretty big name but this was 20 odd years ago so my memory aint that reliable.
