best wash for OD?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, November 29, 2004 5:23 AM
simple question to answer, probably, but before i wash my latest project, I'd like to know if a darker yellow (ochre) makes a better wash for OD than an umber wash?

thanks

Don't think I can help with the specific question, as I don't use either. I use raw umber, artists acrylics.
However, I can't see how a dark yellow wash would work over an OD basecoat. Would it not be too light?

I use a thin black wash to bring out details and then a dark brown (burnt umber) to go over that.
