M1A1 progress work
Posted by diggeraone on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 10:40 PM
I started this project about 5 days ago and was thinking how to make a non-slip surface for my Abram,so this is what I came up with.Corn meal in the paint,I know it might sound funny but it seams to work. Here are a few pics on what it looks like so far.........

So tell me what you think,I know it works for me.Digger

That worked pretty good. It will be fun to see it when you get it painted.

Sorry to say, but it looks a little heavy and goopy to me. The actual non-slip coating is pretty suttle. It is not that heavy. Maybe if you sanded it a bit to smooth it out some it would look better.

If I may suggest another way to do the non-slip surface http://vodnik.net/index_feat.htm.

Digger, I'd have to agree with Gino about it looking a bit too heavy. As suggested, maybe a sanding would help out.
Also, what do you think the long-term prospects for corn meal might be? If it doesn't rot outright, you might get a boll weevil infestation!
