King Tiger photos from Munster.
Posted by TMN1 on Friday, December 3, 2004 11:13 AM
Here some pics of the Tiger II in the panzer museum in Munster, Germany.
This tank have chasis number 280101 and turret number 280110, this means it was produced in July 1944 so it did have the zimmerit coating. It was issued to s.SS.PzAbt. 501 and had the tactical number 121. It was captured by the Americans and tested at Aberdeen proving grounds where they also removed the zimmerit coating.

Explaination : I do not work at the museum, but I know a guy who helps out there. These pictures were not taken by me but by some of my friends. I was hung up on work and couldn't go, but I will next year. They were kind enough to take these pictures ( and the Tiger I and Sturmtiger from the 2 other threads ) and give them to me on a CD.

What a tank, thanks for sharing for those of us who could use the pictures for our builds!
