I didn't know either, but apparently they made some changes. I thought this sounded like a cool kit too!

I wonder if it can be built just as the standard Russian vehicle. If so, I'm game.

I wonder... maybe they will include all the sprues from their original T-34 and just throw in some extras? No sure if it is the 1940 , 1941 or what

It looks like the 41-42 version, the gun mantlet is the initial giveaway.

I'll take your word for it. I don't know very much about Russian Armor

The most readily recognizable differences in the captured Russian tanks were the cupola and the storage boxes. I mean, aside from the big German cross on the turret. The Germans altered their captured tanks with their own equipment. I'm not sure if this was done in the filed, or if these tanks were shipped back to the factories in Germany for refit.
Obviously, stuff like machineguns and tow cables would be German, not Russian, and the Germans would surely have wanted to do away with the "Mickey-Mouse" hatches that were such a "hey shoot me I'm Russian" identifier.

Sounds like an interesting kit.

Now that would be a cool subject. Were they the solid metal plate or the Thoma mesh ones?

Perth's site usually has these kinds of updates when the kit is allready out, or out soon, but most likely in Japan only. Maybe J-Hulk has a better idea...

Nope, this is the first I've heard of it! (The Dragon kit, that is.)
I'll let you know if I do hear anything, but I think we're all on equal footing when it comes to Dragon's releases.

They also had huge crosses on the turrets.

Always interesting to see that...they are around twice as large if not larger than normal...nothing like getting shot at by both sides to make you forget camo and want to be really well recognized. :P

Didn't the Germans take the first conquered T34's to their own factories to study them ??? Maybe those were then the once that got altered.

(Or am I just mistaking one of the missions in the German campain of "Panzers" for history.)
