Need some help with Academy's M-10
Posted by rebelreenactor on Saturday, December 11, 2004 7:09 PM
i am building Academy's M-10 Tank destroyer and I am almost done, I just have some questions about sprue "H"

on sprue H, how do I use the casting numbers???part # 38 I have no idea how to use these.

Also what is piece 27 and 19?
27 look kinda like a mine or something, anybody know?

thanks

John, the casting numbers are to be shaved off the sprue and glued to the kit. If you want info on the foundry numbering system see:
http://web.inter.nl.net/users/spoelstra/g104/foundry.htm

19 are spare rubber track pads. 27 are the track pad brackets to fit to the tank. Look on the back of 27 and you will see 6 holes. These are for the track pad pins 2 each side.

Here is a pic of a set on an M36:

John, I guess you have the same tracks as in the Achilles Kit, the steel chevron type favoured by the Canadians and some Brit units. I'd leave the racks off as they do look odd without track pads.

They are great to replace the shoddy ones Tamiya provides in some of their M4 kits though.
