Panzer III L in North Africa and Jagdpanzer IV L70 Lang: Which set of Friuls?
Posted by nmayhew on Monday, December 13, 2004 3:29 AM
hi there,

i plan on doing a panzer III L based in North Africa late 42/early 43, and the tamiya jagdpanzer kit based in france post-D-Day.

can anyone advise me as to which Friul set to go for as there are a number of variations and i'm not sure which one?

i live in london - where's the best place for me to get them?

kind regards,

Nicholas

Hannants has a shop by the RAF museum in duxford http://www.hannants.co.uk/

or you could go and get them from Historex Agents

Captain Caveman,

thanks for the pointers towards Hannants (use them alot) and Historex (about to!).

what i was after was which variant of track should i be using, as there are about 3 or 4 which were used on the Panzer III and Panzer IV variants.

does anyone else out there know?

this is holding up my procurement programme!!Angry [:(!]Tongue [:P]

kind regards,

Nicholas

Both Panzer III L's tracks and the Jagdpanzer IV L/70 are the type Kgs 61/4000/120, 400mm wide, 93 links for the Pz III, 99 links for the Jagdpanzer.

Peridexion thank you once again, BUT[:0]...

do you know which Friul set these correspond to?

i have surfed the nest for the past 40mins or so and am tearing my hair out!Black Eye [B)]

i went to friul's website, and have come up with a few options (you can see each track in detail by clicking on the picture which comes up on the right hand side once you've gone to the link):

http://www.friulmodel.hu/_tree.php?r=21&dir=kezdet/Metal%20tracks

http://www.friulmodel.hu/_tree.php?r=22&dir=kezdet/Metal%20tracks

http://www.friulmodel.hu/_tree.php?r=23&dir=kezdet/Metal%20tracks

http://www.friulmodel.hu/_tree.php?r=28&dir=kezdet/Metal%20tracks

the last link (no pun intendedTongue [:P]) actually shows a pic of a jagdpanzer IV, but says they were in use from 44-45, which would rule out my Panzer III L.

i don't mind getting 2 different sets for the 2 different models, but figure that if i'm going to spend all this money on them, i might as well get the right ones!

do you know which ones i should go for?

Kind regards,

Nicholas

Ah... I forgot about all the variations of the tracks. Dunce [D)]

You want the ATL-04 for the Pz III L (Hollow guide horns) and the ATL-28s for the Jagdpanzer.
