M88 Hercules kits???

Jesse: No offense taken, just curious. My signature line on another board was DeMon which is a contraction of my name. Someone whined to the admin. and I had to change it.
BTW that would make a great diorama. Wish i'd of thought of it.

Just wondering what the upgrades to engine/trans are and why do they need side armor over the tracks/roadwhls? SA just makes it harder to repaire broken tracks and doesn't seem justified on a vehicle that is not a direct combatant.
Major Rob, I like your Motorpool! How can I get an M-548, I'd be the envy of all the hunters here where I live! I'd settle for an M-113 as I have used them but I really need an M-60!!! Any
thoughts on how I get one?(Or all 3!!)

* Derek- I've always signed my emails with the double SS's like that. It has nothing to do with being a Nazi i can assure you that. I've never thought about it being taken that way before...but then again i've never posted to a group of people who are into military history. Wasn't it an M88 that pulled down the statue of Saddam in Baghdad? That would make a cool Diorama for sure. I remember thinking that when I was watching it live on TV.

The M88A2 HERCULES (Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System) is the recovery vehicle used to tear down the Saddam statue in Iraq.

AEF Designs (www.aefdesigns.com) produces an M88A2 conversion set for the AFV Club M88A1. I do not know if the conversion set can be used with AFV Club's M88 or the Revell of Germany M88A1G, but I do not see why not.

As long as some of have asked about the word nazi in pongpeera_nazi's screen name I'm gonna ask about the capital SS in your signature. What is the reason?

Yea, the Hercules is the M88 A2. Its got armor siding over the road wheels now, the boom itself was made stronger, as weel as the engine and tranny. thanx for the tip.

Whats the Hercules? When I was in (along long time ago in galaxyoh a...)
we had one M-88 and the rest where A1's(Not steak sauce!) What the U.S.
needs is a vehicle based on the M-1, as the M-88 running gear was based on
the M-48 series. Afv club had (has?) a kit and the only other is 1/87 by Roco(
good for the size though!).
