hi i scratchbuilt my bmp 1 on a m113 chassis over 20 years ago and it still fools most modelers , even fooled the army at sevral displays in the past . it is all based on the kit and eyeballing the lines and relating to the photos in NTC book and kit , took about 30 hours work all told , give it a try , cheers ian

No, but there are several build articles around in magazines and perhaps online that give guidance in making the VISMODs out of sheet styrene. A couple that come to mind are a BRDM-looking HMMWV and a Sheridan VISMOD, although I do not remember if it is supposed to be a BMP or tank like a T-72. Been a while since I read the article.

I do know someone online is making a KVT tank out of an M1A1.

Does anyone know if their is a company that makes vismod (visual modification) conversion kits for modern american armor kits.
For those who don't know vismods were applied to armored vehicales at the national training center(fort irwin) in california and fort polk Lousiana.
These were applied to simulate russian hardware during wargame exercises.
These were installed on several types of vehicales including m-551's and m-113's.

I have a book on the ntc. and I think one of these vismods would be very cool to build.

Thanks......
