Commander Series M103 -- Army or Marines?
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 2:52 PM
The Commander series M103 looks to me like the Marine version, the M103A2, but the kit is just described as an "M103". I'd prefer to build the A2, because it saw a lot more service time in the hands of the jarheads that it did with the army. What do you think? Here's the piece:

One other problem -- it is one expensive hunk of resin. I think it would look nice, though, on a shelf next to the tank it was born to kill -- a JS-III ....

One of the guys at Armorama finished building this beast about a month ago. It does have its problems with fit. But it certainly built into quite piece.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

There was an article in MMiR #27 on this vehicle, and it was finished as a USMC tank. Also, I believe the Marines used the 'A1 as well as the 'A2, the main difference being the 'A2 got the diesel engine from the M60 around 1962.
